A busy week at work can take a severe test of your mental and cognition abilities. As a result, you find yourself dealing with an excruciating headache at the end of the week.

Due to our busy lifestyle, almost half of the world’s adult population suffers from one or other types of headaches. The common headache symptoms vary from debilitating pain, nagging, unpleasant tension, and baffling feeling due to pain. And these problems are most common in aging seniors who often find themselves overwhelmed by this unusual feeling.

That said, still, these headaches are familiar to people from all walks of life. Most of us suffer from unusual headaches, but many even don’t know the specific reason for the pain they are dealing with. And they always find themselves divided on this subject, whether they should consult a doctor or not.

If you find yourself dealing with severe headaches and causing changes in your body such as numbness, weakness in your limbs, etc., you should immediately ask for medical care.

Here you’ll find three major types of headaches that people worldwide have to struggle with daily and how to manage them with the right kind of care effectively. Let’s get you fixed:

Cluster-Like Headaches

These headaches are recurrent, severe and are usually defined by piercing and burning pain behind your eyes. It is a rare type of headache, they are constant, intense, and most of the time located around the eye. Other symptoms include a runny nose with a tearing eye.

Most of the time, this type of headache comes unannounced and can cause you trouble for anywhere between 15 minutes to a few hours – but in stubborn cases, it can even stay up to seven to eight hours during the day. Sometimes the pain becomes so devastating that one can’t even sit still. Your medical advisor may ask you to diagnose the reason behind these headaches properly. For that reason, you can check with a neurologist or can even ask for some imaging to rule out concerning causes for your headaches.

While there is no permanent cure for this type of headache, you can still manage to minimize their severity and even stop them from occurring over and over again. To address the pain of this type of headache, you can use the same medications that lead to deal with migraines. Additionally, some prescription medications, like calcium channel blockers, can also help you deal with this particular pain.

Headache Caused Due to Tension

You may have felt mild to moderate clutching pain at both sides of your head, and then you are probably experiencing a tension headache. And it makes perfect sense, as four out of five adults are dealing with this kind of pain. According to the renowned medical provider, Michael Richardson, MD. “These are the most common types of headaches. They are bilateral and create constant pressure like a band squeezing your head.”

Few other symptoms of this type of headache are tight and dull head pain. Anyone suffering from tension headaches can also feel their neck and shoulders causing pain. And when you are going through this pain, you become more receptive or even feel uncomfortable with light and sound.

The reason behind tension headaches is not fully clear, but experts believe that stress plays a significant role in causing these Types of Headaches and can be efficiently dealt with. These headaches can most of the time cause you pain from anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour. Whereas in others it can even stay up to a few days or a whole week. And most of these troubles are common in people again.

So when it comes to dealing with this problem, the treatment of everybody works differently. Some people may find instant relief from aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen. However, if you are dealing with chronic and severe headaches, prescribed pain relievers may ease the pain. If you don’t like to eat many medicines, you can happily stay away from them as they do not always need to ease the pain. But, you’ll need to learn and change a few lifestyle habits. Learning techniques like stress management and effective home remedies such as heating pads and ice packs can benefit you immensely.

Migraine

This type of headache is most common, and one of the most powerful, relentless, and can even last for hours or days. Expert physicians define migraine as “Intense, unilateral (occurs on the side of the head), and normally in the temple. They are sharp like a hammer falling on your head.”

Another significant sign to find out if you are dealing with migraine is that you’ll start seeing temporary visual, speech, or sensory symptoms that appear out of nowhere and stay for a long while before you start feeling normal again. Moreover, these weird sensations can last for hours, but headaches take longer to get resolved. But the tricky part is that not everyone will experience these sensations. Because of that, it becomes hard for them to figure out what is going on with them. People start to think it is due to significant health issues and the growth of a new health problem, making Migraines one of the most challenging types of headaches to deal with. However, if you are experiencing vomiting, nausea, blurry vision, or lightheadedness, you may be suffering from migraines.

So if you find yourself dealing with one or many of these symptoms, your health advisor will refer you to a neurologist. To get some imaging tests done to make sure you are not suffering from a severe health problem.

To find the right way to treatment, you may have to try pain relievers or preventive medications to provide you with instant relief. Pain killers can also work for this kind of problem, and we would recommend you to use only prescribed medicines.
