According to a recent survey from iTOK, for Father’s day, 47% of older dads (age 55+) are interested in laptops, tablets, tvs, smart tvs — all sorts of technology — for entertainment. Dads of any age find gadgets amusing, but 21% said they’d want a technology gift so they could feel closer to their families. Of the respondents, 89% are aging-in-place, so technology represents an even more appealing way to stay in touch with family.
While a majority of older adults say they need assistance when it comes to using new digital devices, once they join the online world, digital technology often becomes an integral part of their lives, according to Pew Research.
