How to Live Longer and Multiply Your Energy level Starting Today!

Not everyone realizes the importance of food consumption on general health. It is so important, it could add 10 to 15 years to a person’s life span; with enhanced quality of life, not chronic suffering by age-debilitating problems. This essay will reveal how you can increase your life span and quality of life by making some common sense changes in what you eat and  food groupings. You will learn how certain foods can boost energy, feelings of well being and attitude about life. When your body is balanced, it boosts your mood, immunity and makes life more tractable.

Much like an automobile, your body depends on fuel to perform its life supporting functions.  It will not  run efficiently if the fuel (foods) are not meeting the needs of your integrated system of bodily parts, heart, lungs, kidneys, kidney and liver. To use the analogy of an automobile, if you  fill your gas tank with an inferior octane of gasoline, your car will not operate  efficiently and parts can start breaking down. The same holds true with the fuel (food) you put in your stomach.

The Road to Realizing Your Greatest Potential

If you are feeling listless, fatigued, irritable and apathetic, it could be your diet isn’t providing the appropriate  combination of energy-producing foods that are needed to keep you physiologically and psychologically balanced. You may feel your disturbing symptoms of depression, fear, sickness or anxiety are caused by external events..  This may be true. However. if you’re not feeling your best,  problems are more difficult to identify and resolve.

Remember, food is to your body as  gasoline is to the performance of a car.   You need to supply your body with top grade nutrients to motor yourself through the tough roads ahead.   Food is much more than a way to satisfy your appetite when you are hungry. It is your life source! You need good food to fully LIVE and reach your greatest potential.

The Foods that Will Power You Through Every Day

The specific dietary needs of any person is dependent on a number of factors. For example, the gender, age the activity level of the individual, cultural customs and family traditions. However, there is general agreement among nutritional experts and food scientists that certain foods  offer the greatest health benefits  and can extend your life. Here they are:

  • Five portions of fruit every day (e.g., blueberries, strawberries, oranges, apples, avocados and bananas. Fruits are a good source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Eating fruit can improve heart health, reduce inflammation from arthritis and strengthen you immune system.
  • Five portions of vegetables every day. Here are the ones ranked highest in nutrition: watercress, carrots, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, turnips. Other nutritional vegetables include kale, spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower.
  • Fish, meat, poultry and eggs are packed with the protein needed to build and maintain muscle, repair tissue, increase hormones and enzymes as well as  grow antibodies that fight disease.  Oily fish like salmon, trout, mackerel and herring  benefit the heart and nervous system and reduces painful inflammation from arthritic conditions. Chicken prepared in a conventional manner –  not fried  – is an excellent source of lean protein. Eggs contain vitamins B-2 and B-12 which preserve energy and build healthy red blood cells.

With regard to sugar-laced candies, cake, ice cream, alcohol, processed foods and deep fried dishes, keep them to a minimum. They aren’t doing you or your body any good. They are high in caloric content and low in nutritional value.
