Overview of Clobex Clobetasol

Clobetasol propionate is a type of shampoo in the market, meant for external use only. It is not made for ophthalmic usage. It consists of synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid. Made for dermatological use. Furthermore, the corticosteroids are made up of common synthetic steroids that are used as an antipruritic and anti-inflammatory agents.

The product has a molecular weight of about 466.97 and its formula is C25H32CIFO5. Its content is white, almost crystalline in nature and odourless, plus it is insoluble in water. An ml of Clobetasol propionate shampoo, 0.05% consists of alcohol, coco-betaine, purified water, citric acid, polyquaternium-10, sodium citrate, Laureth sulfate. 

Indications of Clobetasol Propionate

The clobex clobetasol propionate shampoo is high quality and potent topical corticosteroid mixture that is used for the treatment and moderation of several kinds of scalp psoriasis conditions in people from 18 years old and above. The treatment may last for 4 weeks because of the potential of the drug to alleviate and regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal known as the HPA axis. Ensure that the overall dosage should not go above the limit of 50g or 50ml or 1.75 fl depending on the type of measurement you are using.

It is advised that people in need if this shampoo should it for a limited time so that they can achieve a better result. It is not meant for prolonged usage. Also, it should be noted that this product is not to be used for individuals below 18 years of age because of the high rate of HPA axis suppression.

Dosage and Administration of Clobex

Though, no extra shampoo is needed to cleanse your hair. It’s optional.

Limit the treatment to at most 4 weeks. As soon as control is achieved, all other corticosteroid treatments should be stopped. If you do not attain your desired result using this product, then it can be substituted with another effective one for you. You could also go back to your physician for a reassessment of diagnosis if the condition is not improved. Finally, the product, clobex clobetasol propionate should not be used for Amy form of occlusive therapy unless you are told to do so by your physician.
