Pursuing Your Passion Beyond Retirement

Give The World The Benefit Of Your Expertise and Bring In Some Bucks At The Same Time

As you look back at your professional and leisure life, can you recall one or several areas in which you truly excelled; where people would come to you for advice; where you knew better than your boss most of the time; the kind of stuff that keeps you up at night thinking. Now that you’ve got some time on your hands and you could probably use a few extra bucks, there’s no better opportunity to pursue your passion with an online consulting or information business.

Online Consulting

What’s your passion? Do you take better pictures than the wedding photographer? Are you a micromanager who just lives for hosting parties and other events? Do you know far more than the average Joe or Jen about a particular niche topic that you’re asked about all the time?

These are the perfect foundations for a thriving online consultancy. And just as with an online subscription business, you have the means to spread word about your services right in front of you.

All it takes to get started is some time; you’ve already got the passion! If the field you want to pursue is location-dependent, there’s likely a Craigslist site for your city; simply visit: http://craigslist.org

And create a posting in the relevant category.

Craigslist is a relic of a bygone era, but it’s still quite effective. A more modern app to share your expertise with the locals is called Neighborhood.

Social media such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn is also a hugely effective tool, and you can use it to advertise location-independent services as well. Remember: A picture is worth a thousand words, but there’s usually a need to describe what you do in a way that prompts others to give you a try. If this is not your forte, ask your friend who has the gift of gab.

Though you can consult in an almost limitless number of fields, it’s usually a one-off service. You come in, solve the problem, and ride off into the sunset. That earns you money right then, but it also means you need to chase the next client to keep the funds flowing. But what if you could keep the money coming in like clockwork?

Online Information Subscription Services

If you’re a guru in a particular niche or two or three, this may be your most effective moneymaker. You can build a business around your passion that keeps people coming back month after month. Whether this is relationships/dating, astrology, job hunting, professional development, personal development, or anything in between, people will hang on your every word if you keep giving them useful info. All you need is a website to act as a clearing house. Again, if this is not your strong suit, doubtless there’s someone in your circle who can help you get on the right track. If you don’t want to do it all yourself, you can use a service such as ClickBank.

Hold a Zoom session every week or two to allow people to get their questions answered and offer one-on-one personal attention for a substantial additional fee. Right there you have the makings of a business that brings in a substantial cash flow each and every month.

Say you charge $27 per month to dispense your wisdom. If you bring in just 250 people, you’d make an income that most of us could live on quite comfortably.

This barely scratches the service of the business opportunities out there today, but consulting and online information businesses are an excellent way to turn something you love into a reliable moneymaker.

Do you keep your working cycle after retirement? What do you do?
