CBDs Aren’t Just for Millennials: Seniors are Reaping the Benefits Too

Updated on September 12, 2019

While many of the CBD brands on the market cater primarily to a millennial audience, one company is focusing on bringing CBDs to the baby boomer generation.

Tru Medicinals is a CBD brand that’s setting out to dispel some of the mystery surrounding CBDs, so consumers of all ages can reap the benefits.

“Not only do we use the highest grade Hemp derived CBD on the market but we also have a wide range of products. We are always evolving the brand and offerings to be at the forefront of the industry and understanding the science,”  says the Tru Medicinals team.

Fact or Fiction? Addressing the Myths

Some people in the baby boomer generation have expressed a disinterest in CBDs due to the fear of getting high or stoned. But, in reality,  CBDs are non-psychoactive, and users cannot get high on CBDs.

The psychoactive ingredient in cannabis that gets you “high” is called THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and is not present in most CBD products, which have been manufactured to remove the THC.

Even if you have no interest in traditional marijuana use, or have never tried it before, you can still reap the benefits of incorporating CBDs into your health regimen.

Another myth that needs to be dispelled is the concern that CBDs will cause a positive result on a drug test.

Traditional drug tests that are most common in the workplace are screening only for THC, not CBD. Many CBD products don’t even have THC in them, as some are made from hemp oil, and normally, when CBD oil has THC in it, it’s a trace amount.

In the majority of cases, CBD consumers don’t have to worry that CBD products will trigger a positive on a drug test . Regardless, a good  way to mitigate this concern is to look for products that have had the THC content properly removed, and do not contain any THC at all.

Let’s Talk Safety

CBDs are well known for their safety. Even the Mayo Clinic, one of the most renowned medical institutions around the globe, has said that CBDs are an effective way of mitigating a variety of conditions, safely.

Although CBDs are not yet approved by the FDA, CBD has shown a lot of promise as a treatment for alleviating anxiety-related disorders.

A representative for the Mayo Clinic states, “Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat anxiety. Although some research appears to indicate that CBD might hold benefit for treating anxiety-related disorders…”

For consumers of any age who are interested in using CBDs to treat a specific condition, it’s always a wise choice to consult with a medical professional. But in general, they’re extremely well tolerated by most of the population. Cannabidiol may cause some interference with other prescriptions, so it’s always a wise choice to consult with a doctor.

Getting your CBD products from a reputable company that understands the specific needs of  your generation is imperative. Not only will you be confident with the quality of the product you will be using, but you can also rest assured that the brand has your best interests in mind.
